Nicole Seckman Jilek is a trial attorney focusing on civil litigation. She prides herself on being a zealous advocate for her clients. Nicole feels it is her job to help her clients prevail and is committed to results-focused representation in arbitrations, mediations, negotiations, and in the courtroom.
Nicole is a partner at AKC Law; she joined AKC Law in 2008. Her practice includes trust and estate, real estate, corporate, commercial, personal injury, and employment litigation. She has extensive experience defending professional negligence claims and claims regarding professional licenses.
Nicole is frequently engaged by families to resolve issues related to trusts and estates. She understands that trust and estate matters are personal and that losing a loved one can be complicated. Through careful preparation and persuasive argument, she has helped clients remove people serving in fiduciary capacities as trustees and personal representatives; contest the validity of wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents; and resolve disputes related to the distribution of assets inherited from their loved ones.
Nicole received her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004. She completed minors in Mathematics, Political Science, and Economics. She was a Regents Scholar, graduated from the Honors Program, and attended the Nebraska at Oxford study abroad program. Ms. Jilek received her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2007. She is a 2013 graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy: The Complete Advocate – Trial Skills program.
Nicole provides representation to her clients throughout the state of Nebraska and in federal courts. She also handles appeals before the Nebraska Court of Appeals and Nebraska Supreme Court. She is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and was selected to participate in the Association's 2012-2013 Leadership Academy. She has served on the Executive Board, and as President of the Robert M. Spire American Inns of Court, a group of judges and trial lawyers who meet monthly to promote professionalism, civility, and ethics. Nicole is a Past President and Executive Board Member of the Omaha Jaycees and a member of Leadership Omaha Class 44.
