February 22, 2019After practicing hospital and retail pharmacy in Kenya for a few years, Dr. Opere obtained her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Creighton University, Omaha, NE in 1992 and 1997, respectively. She joined Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPAHP), Department of Pharmacy Sciences as an Assistant Professor in 2002 and advanced to Associate professor with tenure in 2008 and Professor in 2015. She is extensively published in peer-reviewed scientific outlets, book chapters, and monographs, and is an expert consultant in ocular pharmacology. She has served as major professor and committee member for graduate students in the Masters of Pharmacy Sciences program and has sustained scientific mentor for students in the Health Sciences Minority Student program. She teaches in all three professional programs within SPAHP. Dr. Opere is an active member of several national and international professional associations, where she has served in various capacities. She has also participated in several Medical Mission teams to developing nations.
