Dr. Kola, a native from Kenya is a Licensed Individual Mental Health Practitioner, holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University, Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University (India). Doctorate degree in International Psychology (Trauma Concentration) from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Kola has engaged in international field experiences in Peru and Rwanda to enhance her professional interests in trauma, domestic violence research, and forgiveness, respectively. Kola has also presented on the topic of healing of HIV/AIDS, poverty, Sex Trafficking, malnutrition, Domestic Violence among Refugee Population (Denver Colorado), and gender issues at the Health Disparities Conference at Teachers College, Columbia University.
As an immigrant, Kola continues to strive to serve her surrounding community relentlessly through her agency (Buoyant Family Services) that serves a diverse population in the field of mental health and substance abuse, working along aside other agencies to reduce stigma surrounding mental health.
