Carmen brings a unique perspective to business having worked for Fortune 500 and 100 companies in the United States, Australia, Mexico, and throughout Europe. Her career has taken multiple paths holding both executive and general management business roles and executive cultural roles including Chief Diversity Officer and V.P. of Responsible Business. Her ability to guide companies has translated into numerous accolades including the #1 Best Place to Work in Omaha by the Great Work Institute, Small Business of the Month and Business Excellence Small Business of the Year by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and Best Corporate Culture by the Urban League of Nebraska.
Carmen’s current role as founder and CEO of North End Teleservices, LLC is the culmination of her passion for business and community by creating jobs and changing lives in northeast Omaha. Her company is changing the way business thinks about their role in the community by broadening relationship with employees to care for the success and well-being of the whole person. Carmen’s servant leadership approach has brought to bear her nearly 30 years of experience in business as a P&L manager, strategist, consultant and now as a successful entrepreneur.
She currently sits on the board of directors for the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Lending Link, Spark and Bridge Network. Carmen is also council chair of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council called CODE. In addition, Carmen is the council chair of the Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Council for Blueprint Nebraska and a Trustee for the Business Ethics Alliance. Carmen remains a coach and mentor to many individuals, organizations and businesses. Carmen is married to Bob Tapio, who has also served in servant leadership roles while responsible for food service at Boys Town.
