April 1, 2019Dr. Kola, a Kenyan Native, is the founder of Buoyant Family Services LLC., a Licensed Individual Mental Health Practitioner, holds a Doctorate degree in International Psychology (Trauma Specialty) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Master’s degree in Mental Health Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University, Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University (India). Dr. Kola has engaged in international field experiences in Peru and Rwanda to enhance her professional interests in trauma, and forgiveness respectively. Her research focus is on Forgiveness process of Rwanda in Kigali Town Following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Dr. Kola has also presented on the topic of healing of HIV/AIDS, poverty, malnutrition, violence, and gender at the 2014 Health Disparities Conference at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Dr. Kola is actively engaged in the community by serving the Refugee and Immigrant population in areas surrounding Mental health, Substance abuse as well as Case Management. Featured in 2018 Omaha World Herald. Her current interest areas are in addressing the Health Disparities affecting the Refugee and Immigrant population, and research.
